Cookie Policy.
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies LewJonesssTCG uses, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how LewJonesssTCG ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.lewjonessstcg.co.uk. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your choices, and to provide information to site owners. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage, web beacons and pixels, and refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.
Cookies set by us are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation through our site (for example an analytics or advertising provider) are third-party cookies.
3. How we use cookies
We use cookies for two reasons:
- Strictly necessary — to make the site function, such as remembering your basket and keeping you signed in. These do not need consent and cannot be switched off.
- Optional — analytics and advertising cookies that help us improve the site and make any advertising more relevant. These are off by default and are only set if you agree.
4. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Set by default? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core site functions: basket, account/session, and remembering your cookie choice. | Yes — always on (exempt from consent). |
| Analytics | Helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. | No — only with your consent. |
| Advertising | Makes any advertising more relevant and measures campaigns. | No — only with your consent. |
5. The cookies and storage we currently set
Strictly necessary first-party local storage is always set so the site can work. These cannot be switched off.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| lj_cart | Local storage | Remembers the items in your basket. | Until cleared |
| lj_member | Local storage | Holds your account/loyalty display data. | Until cleared |
| lj_pending | Local storage | Carries points to settle through checkout. | Cleared after order |
| lj_cookie_consent | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again. | Until cleared |
Analytics: Google Analytics (only set if you agree)
If you accept analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets the cookies listed below. Nothing here is loaded and no analytics cookies are set until you opt in through our cookie banner, and they stay off if you reject or later withdraw consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted. | 2 years |
| _ga_0S4XY8W31J | Google Analytics | Keeps the analytics session state for our Google Analytics property. | 2 years |
These are third-party cookies set by Google, which may process the data they collect outside the UK and EEA. The data is used in aggregate to compile reports about how the site is used, and we do not use it to identify you. For more, see Google's Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and how Google uses cookies. As well as our cookie banner, you can opt out of Google Analytics on every website by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising: Meta Pixel (only set if you agree)
If you accept advertising cookies, we load the Meta Pixel, a service provided by Meta Platforms (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It helps us measure whether our ads lead to visits and orders, and show more relevant ads to people who have already visited the site. The Pixel sets the cookies listed below. Nothing here is loaded and no advertising cookies are set until you opt in through our cookie banner, and they stay off if you reject or later withdraw consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta | Identifies a browser so ads and site visits can be measured. | 3 months |
| _fbc | Meta | Stores the last ad click that brought you to the site, so a resulting order can be attributed to it. | 3 months |
These are third-party cookies set by Meta, which may process the data they collect outside the UK and EEA. For more, see Meta's Privacy Policy and Meta's Cookie Policy. As well as our cookie banner, you can review and adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
6. Managing your preferences
When you first visit, our banner lets you accept all cookies, reject the optional ones, or choose. You can change your choice at any time:
Update which optional cookies we can use.
Manage cookie preferencesYou can also control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site (like your basket) may stop working. For more on managing cookies, see aboutcookies.org.
7. Consent
We only set optional (analytics and advertising) cookies where you have given consent through our banner. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time using the button above, and your choice is remembered until you clear it or we make a material change to this policy.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes or as the law requires. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version. If we make a material change, we may ask for your cookie choices again.
